If you prefer, you can use this Webquest as a project to celebrate the World Book Day which is celebrated the 23rd April. What is more, it is a good way to introduce a little bit of literature in the English classroom. You can read one of Shakespeare's plays before or after it and use the webquest to contextualize the play.
Stduents should form groups of 5-8 students and there are two main activities.
In the first task students must answer a questionnaire to know more about william shakespeare.
Activity 1 : William Shakespeare (General view of his life)
Activity 2: The Theatre (General view of the Theatre in the Elizabethan Era)
Activity 3: William shakespeare's plays ( A general view of the main commedies and tragedies)
In the second task students must use the information obtained through answering the questionnaire and they have to elaborate an oral presentation of a topic or subtopic studied and present it to the rest of the classroom. They can prepare posters, power points, videos, performances, or any other creative idea.
